hi there
My name is Justine, but you can call me Alex.

I'm an experienced instructional designer specializing in personalized and custom real-world learning experiences.
About
Whether I'm exploring off-road mountain passes and hiking to high-altitude peaks in the western United States, or cruising on a sailboat excursion in the Caribbean, my soul craves adventure.

How does that relate to my career as an Instructional Designer?

Well...

Professionally
My happiest state is when I'm out of my comfort zone and learning new things. The more I learn and the more perspectives I come across, the more I grow and can help others grow. This translates to my career in Instructional Design, as I strive to devise personalized learning solutions and discover innovative avenues to meet client needs. My goal is that with each product I create, a distinct element has been brought in; no two materials should be the same.

What qualities make me a successful ID?
-
Strong background in education: a former K-5 educator, higher ed instructional designer, and corporate instructional designer; two degrees in education.
-
Collaboration: I love to work with others to gain new perspectives. We're stronger when we work together.
-
Diligent organization and project management: I am the queen of color–coded documentation, thriving in the wake of spreadsheets and lists. Productivity and efficiency excite me.
-
Passion and Drive: I put my all into everything I do, no matter how big or small a task. I will not stop until I reach or exceed the goal. If I don't know the answer, I research and deep dive until I figure it out.
Personally
I'm a proud native of Louisville, Kentucky where I reside with my husband and three dogs (Sampson, Teddy, and Mako) and love to cook, hike, and travel to our country's stunning national parks. I love school and learning, so I'm currently working on a Master's in Organizational Leadership at Eastern Washington University.
